The gear or sea turtle is a reptilian animal that belongs to the order of cold-blooded turtles, whose body is protected by a solid shield. In classical Arabic it is called “the dugong,” and the common people call it “the sea turtle”, and it shares the same characteristics that are characteristic of all other reptiles, the most important of which are Characteristics: It breathes with two lungs, it has a heart composed of two atria and one ventricle, and it has the ability to adapt to the temperature of the external environment, and it has skin reinforced with horny scales, and it lays its eggs in an almost dry place and does not incubate it, and its structure consists of bone tissue.
The sea turtle has no teeth, so its mouth is very similar to a strong beak, and despite that it has two strong, sharp mouths devoid of teeth, and the pressure force of its mouth, which grinds food, may reach about 80 kilograms, inhabiting the Red Sea coast for millions of years, and today despite its spread, and it is considered One of the oldest reptiles that live on the seas and oceans, it is considered one of the most important marine species threatened with great extinction, after the International Union for Conservation of Nature was recently forced to place it on the Red List
